Incense Throne Inspired by Tribute Attar

Amouage Tribute Attar built its cult reputation on a rose-and-saffron opening giving way to a tobacco, leather and vetiver base — reviewers have nicknamed it “the Devil’s elixir” for that smoky, masculine turn. Incense Throne by Code Indra takes the same incense-forward spirit but reroutes it toward oud rather than tobacco, in an extrait de parfum built for Indian conditions.

How It Compares to the Original

Tribute Attar’s actual formula opens on Taif rose, saffron and spices, moves through frankincense, rosewater, French labdanum and jasmine at the heart, and closes on tobacco, leather, patchouli, vetiver, cedar and juniper — there’s no oud, birch tar or castoreum in the official note list at all. Incense Throne drops that tobacco-leather-vetiver base and the saffron-jasmine top entirely, replacing them with an oud-and-birch-tar smoke that the real Tribute doesn’t contain. This is a genuine reinterpretation toward oud and incense, not a version of Tribute’s actual tobacco-forward signature.
