Description
Amouage Homage is a 25th-anniversary attar built around a Taif rose and frankincense opening, with oud sitting in the heart and citrus tucked unusually into the base. Frankincense Monarch by Code Indra takes the same rose-and-incense idea but restructures where each note sits, delivered in extrait de parfum concentration rather than a pure oil.

How It Compares to the Original
Homage’s actual formula opens on Taif rose and frankincense, carries oud, jasmine and amber through the heart, and closes — unusually — on lemon, sandalwood and orange in the base. Frankincense Monarch flips that structure: lemon moves up into the opening, rose moves into the heart as Rose Otto, and oud is dropped entirely in favor of myrrh and labdanum in the base. The result is a warmer, more resin-forward drydown than Homage’s citrus-cushioned oud finish.
